1. Introduction

RoJo Educational Consultants LLC ("RoJo", "we", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our Service at meetrojo.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email, role), information generated through use of the Service (session data, practice attempts, accuracy rates), wellbeing alert categories and timestamps (no message content is stored), and technical data such as device type and browser.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to provide and improve the Service, generate progress reports for teachers and parents, detect and respond to wellbeing concerns, enforce rate limits and prevent abuse, and communicate important updates about the Service.

4. Student Data Protection

We take student privacy seriously. Student data is used only to provide educational services. We do not sell, rent, or share student data with advertisers or third parties for commercial purposes. Teachers and authorized parents can access student data. Students can request deletion of their data.

5. FERPA Rights

For students in schools using RoJo under a district license, FERPA rights apply. Parents have the right to inspect and review their child's education records, request corrections to records they believe are inaccurate, and consent to disclosure of personally identifiable information.

6. COPPA — Children Under 13

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If a student under 13 uses the Service, a parent or guardian must create the account. Parents may review, modify, or delete their child's information by contacting hello@meetrojo.com.

7. Wellbeing Monitoring

RoJo monitors session content to detect signs of student distress. When a concern is detected, an alert (containing category and timestamp only — no message content) is sent to the student's teacher and linked parent. No message content is stored in our database.

8. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored using Supabase, a secure cloud database with industry-standard encryption. Payments are processed by Stripe and we never store payment card information. We use Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure users only access their own data.

9. Data Retention

Active account data is retained as long as the account exists. Session and attempt data is retained to support progress tracking. Users may request deletion of their data at any time by emailing hello@meetrojo.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Cookies and Analytics

We use minimal cookies necessary for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or similar tracking services on student-facing pages.

11. Third-Party Services

We use Anthropic (AI responses), Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), and Resend (email). Each service has their own privacy policy. We do not share student data with these services beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.

12. Your Rights

You have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, opt out of non-essential communications, and file a complaint with relevant authorities. To exercise these rights, contact hello@meetrojo.com.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify users of significant changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
